Pack Creation Passes:: As you can see, Inadria, as of now, has no packs for wolves to join. This is because we would like packs to be user run! Read the guide below, and with enough supporters, you may become one of this land's first packs!
There are a few things that you need to consider before creating your own pack.
1. Activity. Taking control of your own pack is challenging. You have to run everything both in character, and out of character. You need to maintain your pack thread and post in quite a few threads. The responsibility may be lightened by giving more people higher positions and appointing other alphas and betas IC.
2. Reasons. Are you creating a pack just to be in control of something, or to contribute to the site? Is your pack unique compared to others? Does it have a goal or basis? Is the future alpha really suitable to run a pack?
3. Ideals. What will your pack be known for? Do they have unusual customs that make them different? Will they be a constructive or destructive addition to the site?
4. Support. How many people are interested in joining the new pack? Do you have a way of sparking the interest of other members? Will you be able to keep the territory you claim and stay active?
PACK CREATION STEP 1::
Organization
Before anything, you must first actually get the general idea of the pack together. This involves customs, rituals, etc. if any apply. Writing up a thread to advertise your pack is probably one of the most important steps. There may be people you are already working with to start it off, but you will also probably want to get the word out and recruit other members to join with their wolves.
A large amount of members will significantly decrease the difficulty of claiming a territory and steps later on.
Making a thread in the General Board, talking to other wolves in character, and plotting with friends are all ways to organize your future pack. Get a good plot, details, and other things in order. Be as creative as you like! There have been cannibal packs, slave packs, and packs of doctors who examine all that pass. Any idea will be considered and hopefully accepted.
PACK CREATION STEP 2::
The Land Claim
After you create a thread explaining the basics of your pack, a staff member will look through it. There may be a small chance that something needs to be fixed, but this is a pretty open place and your idea will be accepted. This is the time to purchase a Pack Creation Pass. With the confirmation of the staff, begin organizing the land claim to take possession of the territory in which your pack will reside. In some circumstances, you may have the option of creating a new area instead of claiming an existing one.
*Note that a newly created territory is still considered an official role playing territory of the rest of the site, and may still be taken over by another pack.
Once the territory is decided upon, the first thing to do is begin a thread in that territory. This will be where future members of the pack will post to declare their participation and claim to the area. It will mainly consist of wolves just coming and standing around awkwardly until the territory is claimed.
However, this thread will not be locked and private. Other wolves have every right to come in as non-supporters. If enough disputing wolves post, there is a chance that the wolves vying to create the pack will be driven out. But, if the pack wolves are strong enough in number, it should be no problem to take care of protesters. This is to ensure how strong the pack will be and if they'll be able to keep a hold on their territory.
After three days from the creation the thread, if all the complications are taken care of, the pack finally has someplace to call their own. The territory will be listed as a claimed area and will no longer be a place completely free to everyone.
PACK CREATION STEP 3::
Tying Up All the Loose Ends
Now that the main challenge is complete, all that is left is finishing everything off.
The first task is building up your pack board. This will be the place members come for information, pack announcements, and other plotting and such. Keeping it updated will be very important. Write up a general info sticky, the joining process, and anything else you think is necessary to get other members interested.
Next, you must get everything that needs to happen in character in order. This involves appointing other members to ranks, and making announcements to the pack wolves, and anything else like rituals if necessary. This is a suggestion but very highly recommended. Just in general, work on getting people settled into the pack so everything starts off smoothly~
